Jonker Boutique Hotel (JBH) is an easily recognizable sight in Malacca(English)/Melaka(Malay) City’s cityscape. We take our namesake from the world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site Jonker Street (Malacca’s Chinatown), which is right at our doorstep. Out the door is a mixture of colonial and traditional Straits (Peranakan or Baba Nyonya) charm, for which Jonker Walk is known for.

Our location puts us right in the centre of all of Malacca’s most important cultural landmarks, popular eateries and shopping outlets of all sizes.

History

We began business in 2010 with the ambition of being a portal for families, couples and solo travelers to Jonker Street and Malacca Heritage City. We’re a 16 room hotel converted from three 3-storey shop lots. It has been our mission since the beginning to make the stay of our guests the best it can be!

Design

The basis for all of JBH’s design elements is ‘old on the outside, new on the inside’. We preserved the iconic Art Deco façade and pillars while furnishing all our 16 rooms with contrasting modern ornaments and surface patterns. Each room is designed along similar motifs and is equipped with the same high quality amenities, but retains individuality in décor, layout and pieces of furniture. No two rooms in the hotel are the same.
